John 15:5 – I am the Vine. You are the branches.

Are you letting your soul rule your life?  Your soul is made up of your mind, will, and emotions.  How often are your emotions moved in negative ways?  How often is your mind attacked?  If you are constantly being tormented in your mind, then you are letting your soul rule over you.  You are not ruling over your negative emotions.  It is time to let your spirit rule.  If you have trusted Christ as… your Saviour, then your spirit has been reborn, and you should be bearing the fruit of self control.  God has instructed me to let my spirit rule over my soul.  When I get angry over something, or I feel like complaining, I am making it a point to speak to my soul.  “Peace!  Be still!”  The word peace is a command that Jesus used on the wind and waves of a storm.  When you have a storm going on in your soul, you need to command those waves by saying, “Peace!”  Then speak the Word of God over your life and your situation.  We can win the battle of self if we just will stand against our nasty soul and Fight with the weapons that God has placed in our hands.  Wake up, Church!  Grumbling and complaining kept the children of Israel out of the promised land.  Think of it.  God takes them out of the bondage of Egypt, but they did not shake off the shackles of their own soul.  They decided not win the battle of self.  They died in the wilderness a free people; not slaves in Egypt.  I say, man and woman of God, you are free!  Don’t die in the wilderness from complaining.  Speak the Word of God over your life, let His joy be your strength, and March into your promised land.  We are well able to take this land!
